Nice color combo Mikey. I bet the steelies really go nuts for it. Tip: Try tying your hackle in by the tips for the reverse taper approach I find the Gander Mtn stuff hard to work with.....how bout you? Its not bad for feather wings like a Rangeley pattern, but it doesnt palmer very well....IMO. The thick base tends to crack, split and/or break Attachments:

Yeah it is considerably harder to work with. I bought stuff from the shop that was way better, i don't remember the product name but it was some of the best hackle. Also i found that hackle feathers from a craft store palmer really nice but usually arent long enough to make a nice collar. Heres a craft store hackled bugger And this is what my box now looks like. I plan on getting rid of my indicators and egg flies for the most part and just drifting and swinging.

Don't get rid of anything.. And always carry options with you.. You never know when the water will call for it..

Ill keep a little box of them and a couple indi's. I guess as half the other people on this fourm would say... The tug is the drug. Which is so dead on, once you get that hard hit on a dangle after the swing you automatically crave that. But if im not producing much with buggers and leeches, then ill break out an egg.
