Well I'm a couple days behind on this post but, "better late than never." So I spent Halloween out in the desert at one of those smelly hippy festivals
Camp
and afterword had a few days off to clean myself up and get some fishing done. As nice as the sunny blue skies of southern California were I still love the damp, gray, cold that tells me steelhead fishing is just down the road. And so it went on Wednsday that around noon my brother and I were in the car driving west to try our luck. Even mid-week there were at least half a dozen cars. It was cold, damp, and gray. The water was up a touch and a litttle green with plenty of visibility. Though there were a lot of cars, I walked downstream and didn't see anyone for a long time.
There were plenty of opportunities for both of us which resulted in one small fish and this pig who nailed the fly, rippied off some line, and launched herself a few feet in the air.
All of my fish hit the fly swinging through the deepest water towards the tails off the pools. Oh yeah, they all took my favorite fly as well.

that third pic is making me cold just looking at it. looks like the ol dead catt is still teaching them a lesson and that is one pretty fish, nice job. that does have to be one helluva transition from cali to movember back in WNY. after hearing that show they did on halloween i wish i was there, one of my favorite albums, still got it on vinyl too.
