Anyone know what the tagged Rainbows are tagged for? None of the Browns I caught today had tags.

thanks Scott. Sad to see the tagged stockers in with the wild genetics of the Catt.
Please kill any tagged rainbows you catch in the catt. your four year old will thank you later!

They may have been tagged for the fishing derby. "Catch a tagged fish, win a prize"
And I agree with Nick. Its a stocked rainbow in a creek with a very healthy population of wild rainbows. Kill it next time.

After reading the first post I thought for sure it was the Genny. Seeing that tagged fish are now on the Upper Catt, I am once again stupefied by the management of our local fisheries. Throw the rubber ones in the woods. Damn!

I've emailed Michael Todd @ DEC and inquired about this. Am anxious to hear the reply.

got a reply in under 15 mins........ here it is:
Rainbow trout were not stocked by the DEC. However, Village of Arcade stocked a few hundred tagged rainbow trout for their trout fishing derby that was held last weekend.
