I’m sure most of you know about Casting For Recovery but for those of you who do not it is a national non-profit support and educational program for women who have or have had breast cancer that has a fly fishing focus. The idea is to get women who are recovering into the beautiful places that fly fishing takes us and teach them about our sport so they have something better to focus on. One of the ways they raise funds for the program is a fly auction. They will accept any flies they can get but I decided to try and make something a bit outside the box for them. I changed the colors on an old atlantic salmon fly, the floodtide, and this is what I came up with. The Pink Floodtide.
