i just cant figure out the lead on the back of the hook thing so here is my lazy way out. I put a bead mid body maybe to look like eggs or whatever i might try silver bead but this is the easiest way to weight the fly without resorting to the lead on the back method. This is my first crack at it trust me they will get better as time goes on. Be easy im not that good but i try hard.

Looks pretty good. Hard to tell from pic .... did you not mono rib it?
Find the lead back hard eh? I think that as long as you cut them at 45deg angles it really Isn't that bad. But hey if it works this way for ya. The fish will be the real judges.

really cool tie man. Have u demo'd it yet??? Interested to see some results!!! POST SOME PICS WHEN YA GET A CHANCE!!
The question i have is that i believe the lead on the top of the hook is to get the fly floating hook point up. Nick has a good demo of how to do this on the site somewhere.
Am i correct in my assumption??

I would imagine the lead is just simply to get it down, not necessarily to get the hook to ride in any certain way.

im sure that'll catch fish, but it looks a little disproportionate to me. I'd use a bigger hook. Dont be afraid to tie them bigger than the naturals. I'm sure thats bigger than a natural anyway but im takin #14-12 works great. Also, is that an ostrich body? Personally, I like dubbed bodies much more. There are some nice dubbing blends out there for scuds. or you can make your own.
