Haha! Yeah, let me clear up what i said... Use an indi to keep it off bottom.. OR if your swinging use a poly leader, that sinks fast enough to get down, but not snag bottom... Dont try to put a indicator on the poly leader... Though im curious of what would happen there. that would be gay i nymph my balls off and i lose some flies i would try harder to get snags out better maybe pull upstream more work on desnagging techniques that and spread out your wait instead of using one big weight use three small ones spread out

I tie thousands of flies a year and i still get pissed when i lose one. it doesn't keep me from seeing how far i can swing under that log but it does make me work to free them. i see way too many people break off flies that i'm certain i could have gotten free. move to the direction the fly went in to try pulling it off. roll cast back over the snag and then pull up sharply as the loop passes the snag. high up rod shaking... lots of ways to free flies if you get enough practice!

Nick's right.. Chances are, Your hook point is about 1/16 of an inch into some wood.. You can jar it lose with a little wiggle.
Although, It's weird how if I so happen to snag a fish its usually while I'm freeing up my hook. The hook might snag under them and when I pull it up it catches the fish.. So just be careful if you know that your drifting into a pod of holding fish. The more fish you know are there, The worst luck you would have snagging one of them..
