Nice JJ, they look like something a Vegas Show Girl would wear. I like them.

I happened to talk to two different people this week & mentioned about getting into a fly swap sometime & they both said that they "weren't good enough", much less trade flies with someone else, to which I promptly answered "B.S." (but without the abbreviations). To get to the point, dave19 & I PM'd each other earlier & I said that I would be willing to coordinate a small group of tiers who either don't have enough time to tie 12 flies, have a shelf life that is about five or six, or don't think their flies are "good enough", to which I'll still say "B.S." So, I'm willing to coordinate a small group of tiers (Group "B") (max of six), if there is enough interest. If you want to try a fly swap, don't want to attempt 12, or are a newbie to fly tying & want to stretch your abilities & get better, shoot me a PM & I'll sign you up. Here are the rules: 1. you gotta have fun tying 2. exact same rules as dave19's for the larger group 3. max of seven people (one is me to coordinate) so tie six flies to trade 4. Meet on same day/same place as the larger group 5. can't be in both groups 6. you can't worry that you're "not good enough" Other than that, I'm flying by the seat of my pants on this, so please cut me some slack if it doesn't go smoothly. I'm not a good tier, myself, & I don't claim to be, but I know that since I started swapping, I've stretched my abilities & limits to do a fly that I would be willing to give away. For every six flies I tie, I'll keep two for my own use because I wouldn't want anyone else to see them. Sooner or later, it'll all click together. Here's a white bunny spey I tied (already have four) that looks like it's having a bad hair day, but what the He77, I learned a lot doing these & have a lot of fun tying them.

JJ, We should get a seperate thread started for this new swap ...... I can see things getting really confusing if both are housed on the same thread

Just to get some action going on this thread again...... I am thinking about doung some bigger pink and white sculpin patterns. Long rabbit strip with a small piece of hybrid tubing in the back portion of it .... then 1/2 in of copper tube in the front with pink marabau and flash tied in just infront of the rabbit strip ..... then white rabbit strip spun in a dubbing loop for the head. Will post pics when I am not feeling so lazy
Anyone else got some bright ideas floating in their heads??

b-r..I checked out the site you posted ...real nice & the slides are very helpful . Never thought to make them out of all synthetics, but the patterns are so nice, it's gotten my interest. The fact that they readily sink & are easy to cast makes them even more interesting. Maybe the rubber legs will catch on & the women will start wearing them in their hair instead of feathers!
dave..glad to hear the car is now good. Heard from one of the guys that it got banged up. What a bummer.
