This fly is the most popular of a series of flies created by Keith Fulsher in 1982, all using red fox hair for the wings. Fulsher notes that red fox is not highly used for salmon flies despite its good texture and color. You can substitute almost any color for the collar and tag but black, green, orange and yellow are some of the more popular colors in the series. This fly is used extensively on rivers in Newfoundland and New Brunswick. The creator, Fulsher, is best known for his Thunder Creek streamer flies. Hook: Up eye salmon hook. Tag: Small oval silver tinsel and fluorescent blue floss. Tail: Guinea hen fibers. Rib: Oval gold tinsel. Body: Flat silver tinsel. Wing: Red fox hair. Collar: teal blue hen hackle Head: Black.
