The eagle series of flies was a series of flies that closely resembled Dee flies. Many were tied with the same flat, delta styled wings that were incorporated into the Dees, but the heron/schlappen hackles were replaced with Eagle "fluffies". NOTE** I DO NOT USE EAGLE FEATHERS, This fly was tied with Marabou, which is almost exactly the same. This is one of the few Eagles that has a married wing. A more extravagant fly than the typical yellow eagle. The Halladale is a beautiful Scottish river that I hope I can fish before I go to the great run in the sky!!!!! Notice the use of Mohair over the wing. Many flies of the 19th century used Mohair as a wing. Although, slightly more obscure than their gaudy counterparts, the hair wing fly has been alive and well for 2 centuries!!!
