This fly was invented by professional fly tier Paul Miller. Miller is one of the persons credited with popularizing the use of shank flies with interchangeable trailing hooks. Hook - Large Salmon hook with the bend cut off. Trailing hook - #2 Octopus connected by a loop of 30 – 50lb fire line lashed to the shank of the hook. Thread – Black Tail – Black rhea feather fibers Flash – Blue flashabou. Body – Black cactus chenille Hackle – Black rhea and orange saddle hackle mixed (other colors can be used like blue, pink or chartreuse) Eyes – Jungle cock.
