This fly was invented by professional fly tier Paul Miller. Miller is one of the persons credited with popularizing the use of shank flies with interchangeable trailing hooks. He describes this fly as a general practitioner on steroids. Hook - Large Salmon hook with the bend cut off. Trailing hook - #2 Octopus connected by a loop of 30 – 50lb fire line lashed to the shank of the hook. Thread – Orange Tail – Orange rhea feather fibers Eyes – Black beads epoxied to heavy mono. Flash – Orange Krystal flash and silver flashabou. Body – Orange cactus chenille Hackle – Orange rhea. Shell back – Golden Pheasant red breast feather.
