Here is a foot firmly planted in the 19th century with a blend of modern technology. All of these patterns are classic Dee flies, but are still highly effective for Steelies in the great lakes. The Balmoral, I have found, is the largest killer out of all. All of these are tied on 3" tubes. They are a blast to fish and as we all know, the swing can result in some crushing takes! As follows: From Left to Right. Row 1: Akroyd, Balmoral, Dr. Forbes. Row 2: Dodger, Dunt, Gardener. Row 3: Killer, Gledwing, Glentana. Row 4: Inchgarth (used Schlappen for a longer hackle), Jock O'Dee and Redwing.
