I plucked several mallards each having some nice feathers. While washing them I would put them in a coffee can with soap and water and shake occasionally for an hour or so. I would then rinse several times with cold water. When I poured them out they were almost always paired with their matching feather. They all wanted to stick to each other but only could effectively stick to their complete opposite. Very cool stuff haha I'm a loser.

Sounds like a new way to make married wing flies. Now, if you can just add hooks, hackle & thread into the can, shake it a bit, pour out the contents & get right to fishing with them, you'll save plenty of time. Actually, that is a pretty cool observation because that's why birds can fly.
It reminds me of a joke about how to make your own net. You buy a box of holes & you tie them together (now, that was lame).
