Hi all,
Hope everyone is out getting some steels after this cold winter!
I am looking for suggestions on a place to camp and fish. Our bar league hockey team is going camping so it will likely get loud and rowdy. We are also looking for a lake or river with good fishing, for brooks or bass or both. We will be going May 20-24 and we will travel anywhere between here to the finger lakes and even the Adirondacks.
Any suggestions are welcome, and while we party hard, we will leave no footprints!
Thanks in advance! Ryan

Algonquin Park Ontario. Victoria Day weekend crowds will have dispersed and May 23-24 is not a holiday for us.. Great brookie fishing (and lakers in some lakes). Only problem is bass season is closed. Have fun wherever you go. Larry

Since this doesn't sound like a fishing trip, I would recommend alleghany state park. Quaker and Red House lake will be well stocked with trout and quaker has northerns particularly near the inlet. there are also small streams with trout if you want to get away to flyfish. Plenty of camping and you can usually get away with being fairly rowdy. My friends and I go every year. The rangers usually come to tell us to be quiet but we have never been kicked out or arrested.
Honestly, if i was camping in the adirondacks and you showed up making a lot of noise I would be pretty pissed.

I have been to both those places, allegheny many times. Both awesome choices. The fishing is far better in Algonquin but the atmosphere at allegheny is much more fitting. You can also rent cabins berry affordably

I have seen some rowdy campers at Allegheny including myself many years ago. In the last few years I have seen more than one group kicked out.I've seen them kicked out in the middle of the night. That would be a bad situation if the park police tell you to go home and everyone is too drunk to drive.

Thanks for the replies guys! We aren't going to get tooo rowdy! I know the goons you guys are referring too and we aren't that type of crowd. I just want to avoid younger children in the area, don't want the parents to smell something funny and get upset!
cheers and tight lines. -Ry
