Hi Guys and Gales, With the Oak closing last year there was a lot of uncertainty of having the kids fly fishing fest at Rushford Lake Conservation Club. I've had a lot of inquiries from kids and from people who have volunteered over the years. The date for this years is July 23rd from 10:00 am until 2:00pm. We will be raffling off a fishing kayak and a fly outfit to generated money for prizes and gifts for the series of events for kids at the club. On June 18th we have our kids archery clinic and 3 D shoot and last year we added a very popular day for special needs kids who normally can not enjoy the outdoors or fishing. If any one out there wishes to volunteer or donate flies or equipment please PM me and I will get back to you. If interested in raffle ticks they should be here in about a week. Thank you, Rick.

I'll be there. Can donate flies if needed for comic relief or examples of what not to do. Will try to get more helpers if I can goad anyone to be there.

A little more than a week before the kids event. If any one wants to donate not so great tied flies or if you want to spend an awesome day with some great people and hungry for knowledge kids come on out. Starts at 10 am and goes to 2. Plus you get a great free lunch.

How many are actually going? I've been out of touch with the crowd. Planning on bringing several casting setups, anything else?

Saturday was an amazing day at Rushford Lake Conservation Club. I wish to thank all of who volunteered your time and or equipment to give away to the kids. I can not begin to tell all of you how proud I am to be associated with this awesome group of men and women. Marty, the custom made fly rod went to a young lady who has had a tough go in her young life. If you were here to hand pick who got it I know you would have chosen her. I can not predict the future and see what's in store for next year but I do hope to keep this event going for awhile. If you go to the Rushford Lake Conservation Club Facebook page there are some pictures posted.
