This fly is probably the most popular fly invented by outdoor writer and steelhead book author George Richey of Honor, Michigan. Richey’s flies are not the most beautiful flies but they do represent some of the earliest wet flies invented specifically for great lakes steelhead. This one was invented in the 1970’s and is primarily used in the spring. Hook: Up eye salmon hook. Tail: Dark yellow calf tail. Body: Back 2/3rds orange chenille, front 1/3rd black chenille. Throat: Dark yellow calf tail. Wing: Dark yellow calf tail. Head: Red [/url
