Hook- Daiichi 1110 #14 – 20 Thread- Yellow or Orange Tails- Yellow or Cream Microfibbetts tied in split Abdomen- Yellow CDC feather, coiled then wrapped around the shank Wings- CDC Oiler Puffs, Light Dun (one for each side of body) Thorax- Yellow Superfine dubbing Tying notes: Tie wings on either side of the body with the butt sections of the oiler puffs toward the rear. Position with figure eight wraps, then dub the thorax. Trim butt sections shorter than the forewings. When fish are rising to spinners in relatively slow water I find this pattern can be extremely effective, particularly when the spinners are still somewhat lively as they fall. This pattern can be adapted in many other sizes and colors to imitate the whole range of smaller mayfly spinners we find on local waters. Generally I do not tie this for the larger mayfly spinners, but it works fine for the smaller species such as Cahills, Baetis, PMD and PED, and Paraleptophlebia.
