Hook- Daiichi 1110 #14 - #22 Thread- Rusty Dun 8/0 Abdomen- Tan Superfine Dubbing Underwing- Cream colored Antron Wing and Forelegs- Natural CDC feathers Thorax- Callibaetis Superfine dubbing Tying notes: When tying in the two CDC feathers for the top wings, simply leave the butt ends connected for the forelegs. Figure eight wraps with the thorax dubbing to position them flat out to the sides and clip them to length. I try to adjust the length of the CDC feathers while tying them in rather than clipping them off in the back above the hook bend, but either method works well. Keep the underwing slightly shorter than the CDC wings. I use this pattern as my basic caddis adult pattern in medium and slow water. It presents a highly realistic profile to the fish and will often take highly selective trout. This pattern appears in my boxes in many sizes and color variations, but all are tied basically like the recipe presented here. This is an easy pattern to tie and extremely durable with good flotation and effective profile.
