Here is my attempt at a Jeff White Original pattern. This fly is most commonly tied in the Alewife version pictured and a brown and yellow version. The Brown and Yellow version accounted for my largest non resivour rainbow trout taken roughly two years ago this time. Hook is a Stinger of wide gap bass hook Tail has four strands of mirage flashabou Palmered Marabou White/Gray magnum strip EP fiber head I have experienced issues with short strikes while fishing this fly in low water or bright light on the larger brown and yellow version I hope to experiment with tying this patterns on tubes soon. IF anyone has a suggestion for a substitution for EP fibers please feel free to share.

now that i see the use and pattern the frizz fiber we have will do nicely for that, it may even be a touch softer than the EP. if you do it on a tube with dumbells too you can ride the hook point up like on my steelhead swinger without having to screw with the rabbit strip/hook bend issue.
