Here is my take on the softex mouse mentioned in the Night Patterns thread. I followed the listed pattern to the best of my ability, substituting what I had to along the way. I tied one with marabou legs and didn't like how they turned out, so I switched it to rubber legs. Please let me know what you think, any and all comments are welcome. Shoe Goo Mouse Hook - size 4 6x streamer hook tail - tan zonker strip 1/8" legs - black rubber body - 1/2" round foam "Poly Foam Caulk Saver" from Home Depot prepared as described by Fly Flogger in the above mentioned thread Over-body - 2mm red foam strip as described

The shoe goo worked pretty good, I have no experience with softex so I have nothing to compare it to. It went on smooth and dried fairly quickly, and I just had to rub my fingers together to clean off my hands. The body came out nice, it feels very lifelike. The foam I used is quite mushy, and the shoe goo stiffened it up a bit. This fly will definitely float like a cork and really move some water when stripped. I cant wait to try it out! I'll bet that the Bass will love it too.
