I have been working on a sculpin pattern for night fishing this spring. I wanted something that looks decent, moves water, and gets deep fast. I chose to tie it hook point up to avoid some snagging. I have yet to dunk this one but it looks like it could fit the description. Any and all comments are welcome. Hook- size 6 4x streamer Eyes- BIG HEAVY lead hourglass eyes Tail- 2 mottled brown hen back feathers, convex sides touching Body- spun sculpin wool, brown and olive, alternating colors each bunch Pectoral fins- 2 mottled brown hen back feathers, concave side out Dorsal Fin- Grey zonker approx 1/2" long (the skin of the strip should end before the hook point to prevent fouling) Head- spun sculpin wool, brown and olive, alternating colors each bunch. MAke sure to fill in properly around eyes to avoid gaps.

Very nice fly it makes sense to fish Sculpin patterns at night. I remember reading some where that Sculpins were nocturnal has anyone else heard that before?
