CDC Puff Yellow Stone Hook: Daiichi 1280 Wings: Light dun oiler puffs tied in at intervals along the abdomen Abdomen: Yellow Beaver dubbing Thorax: Amber Superfine dubbing Thread: Rusty Dun 8/0 This pattern is a CDC version of the sunken stone that has become popular on many western streams. The number of puffs tied in can be varied to adjust to the length of the hook to imitate much larger stoneflies. CDC is a great material to use on stonefly patterns as it tends to move independently while on the water, simulating movement of the bug. Stoneflies are often quite active on the water and attract large fish and violent strikes for that reason.
