This is a fly I tied for a recent trip to the big river. It is tied on a two inch tube and is very quick and easy to tie. The body is silver tinsel ribbed with antique tinsel. The wing is a blend of Russian Goat and Canadian goat.. When I arrived at the big river it was just that big and brown in my limited fishing time I caught nothing. I have been informed this is a good low water fly for the big river but could be tied heavier i.e. wing possibly body. Any suggestions on how to improve this fly would be greatly appreciated.

This looks good the way it is, especially for low water, like you said. Nice job. The only thing i would sudgest is making some with heavyer wings for dirty water.

I can't tell if the collar is stiff hackle or soft.....I would lean towards a softer hackle, but that's just me. I think it would move more in tune with the other hair.
Fish it a couple of more times and let the fish tell ya....they're the best critics!!
