Finally started playing around with my light box and the macro setting. Chart-n-Grey Lady in Red Ringneck-n-Grey Purple-n-Orange I think two lights will help distribute better, I'll have to see. Cannon PowerShot A570IS

pics and flies are looking good. i have seen the idea of shooting the lights through a diffusion material but haven't tried it. i'm using direct light from two compact fluorescent lights and a bright, shiny white material for reflection in the box (foam core board). fun experimenting with this stuff too.

Yeah very fun stuff. The box is simple cardboard with white poster paper glued to the inside. Then I've stapled and pulled white muslin fabric over the outside and placed another piece of blue poster paper inside in a curve. Pretty easy and cheap. The work lights and bulbs were the most expensive things around thirty bucks. The rest of the stuff I had laying around the house.

Good job! The pictures in the second post are definitely better. That extra light seems to eliminate the shadows and gives you better color.

Thanks for the praise and encouragement guys. The constant tinkering has been a blast. I'd like to see pictures and specs. from other peoples setups.
