I just want to shoot out a big thanks to Steve Wascher for the demo today. After getting home tonight, I sat down to tie a few bass bugs with the tips Steve gave. First one turned out OK. Second one, I am pretty happy with! I need to get a good hair packer... the bic pen works ok, but I think I can get the hair packed tighter with a good packer. I crowded the eye a little on this one, but, i can still get a good sized tippet through. Sorry about the cell phone pics (3.2 mp), my cam is out of commission for a while. This bastige took me about an hour! Hook: Daiichi 2722 size 1/0 Tail: chartreuse crystal flash, chartreuse saddle hackle tips, olive hackle tips Rear Collar: olive zonker strip wrapped around hook once Body: stacked yellow, olive, chartreuse, dark green deer hair Weed guard: 30 lb mono

That there is some pretty good looking deer hair. I've watched people do this and I'm always impressed with the patterns that result. Makes me consider bass fishing just to try tying these things!

yeah that looks damn good, nice job on the stacking. the frogs work good for ponds and weed lines and try and do a couple of minnow types too when you can, especially for the upper river and lake shore.

Although I missed Steves presentation I had the pleasure of meeting him at the FF show in NJ. He was as nice as could be and was more then willing to share info. Its great to be able to meet people like him in our sport and being able to watch him tie at the show was one of my highlights.
After watching him spin up some Pike flys he got me motivated to chase after those toothy criters again!
Sick Bass bug bro.
