In many articles and books written on the subject, I often hear 'river left' and 'river right' when describing which casting technique to use for certain situations. Lani Waller uses this a lot in his new book. Do I have it correct that river right means the river flows from right to left? River left, the river is flowing from left to right? Any information on this would be appreciated.

actually it comes from boat directions. river right is the right side looking downstream as if traveling in a boat. it is always looking downstream, river right and river left.
