e-boy....interesting patterns. There are a couple of things to keep in mind I noticed about possibly using circle hooks in NYS tribs. I've used circles in the salt & I like 'em.
Below are quotes from the NYS DEC Regs:
(c) Hooks shall not have a gap (distance between the shank and the point) greater than one-half inch.
(d) Use of hooks with added weight is prohibited, except that artificial flies with no more than one-eighth ounce added weight are permitted.
Depending on hook size, the general shape of circle hooks looks like it could easily come close to the 1/2 inch. Additionally, adding weight underneath, while an innovative design idea, might be pushing the envelope on that 1/8 oz. part.
I like the concepts, though!..jj

That web page was just an example, if you look at other pages Bouncers appear to be tied on many style of hooks and naturally when in Rome.......
I will remember to bring my grain scale and scissors to NY in the event the DEC wants to check the weight in or on my flies. ;D
I think Ak has the same 1/2 rule on many rivers.
