Does anyone fish these hooks? I have a bunch in sizes 8- 2 and have been tying rats and will be tying blue charms on them for fishing. It's a sexy looking low water hook and looks good for these patterns. I was wondering about the hooking ability and if the fine wire will twist into a pretzel. I've had Alec Jacksons do that and they are a heavier wired hook. I might have fished these before but I cannot remember, oh boy here goes the age thing with me not remembering??? I have tried the blind eye version ( CS 10/3) and have hooked Chinooks without any bending or twisting. Let me know your thoughts.

I dont know that model of hook or how it would stand up to large fish but.... i use the partridge offset czech nymph hooks and i also recently purchased their klinkhammer hook. I've found them to be an excellent manufacturer for my purposes.

I am sorry, the Bartleet is a traditional salmon hook, I imagine it being a salmon hook that is should hold up fine, they are for the Salmon River in the summer looking for skamania and atlantics, not planning on hooking into anything over 6 lbs or at all but ya never know.

Hi Joe I'm a huge Partridge fan !! The CS10/1's are my staple hook . I've tied and fished these from size #10 to #3/0 and have had no issues at all . They are a traditional spey hook and really sexy for sure that has excellent hooking and holding power thanks to the Bartleet bend . Even with the recent take over from Mustad and the manufacturing taken from England to Taiwan , the quality has remained I find . I believe that Mustad is using the same reciepe that Partridge did , meaning percentage of carbon content . They flex a little more than the Alec Jackson's , but this is what gives them the edge . Last fall I had a beast of a red-side feed me back my offering after a short lived battle . This Crowne & Mitre was tied on a AJ #3 2051 . This was the first time that one had opened up on me and hopefully the last !! My boxes are riddled with AJ's as well . Mike

This is what happened to a size 7 AJ after a I landed a hot hen in the UFZ 2 years ago, the hook stayed buried but you can see what happened, I really put a ton of pressure on her to turn her around 3 times. This might be a fun topic- show your mangled hooks Thanks for the confidence Mike, it would be cool land a Salar on one of those sexy hooks this summer

i've bent both a few times. for big fish hooks why not switch to the cs102 which is the heavier version if you like that shape? there are also the heavy wire AJ but only in a #3 and then the daiichi 2161 which is heavier than the AJ heavy but has more sizes. i use the #2 and #4 for speys and definitely can't straighten one of them.
btw mustad no longer handles partridge, they got sold off to another company that escapes my also failing memory. they may be hard to find for a while until the new company gets rolling. the later mustad versions were being made in china.

I use the CS10/2's as well , they are an Iron version , which has a shorter shank to gap ratio . A good looking hook , very strong for sure , but not the same sexy as the CS10/1's for spey's . I tie a lot of softhackles , hairwings and century wets on them . Thanks for the info on the company , never thought a hook manufacturer would be such a corporate mover .

Nick, I am going for pure sexxxy ;D These are for June/July/ August on the S.R. for unicorns- getting one on a traditional hair wing would be great, or if I get one at all it would be great too. Plus I have hooks to spare. I am tying up some on the double Wilson too

Well this is what happened to my rusty rat tied on a partridge CS 10/2 size 8, it actually held it's shape till I got my mitten clamps locked on to it and the fish jumped on me,this was not from the actual fight. I was using a 6# ultagreen tippet in the UFZ in the fast water below the access walk-in area, if you have fished the UFZ you know that water mover over a steep gradient, so I am a believer, even though he as a drop back ;D the fish the Rat
