Soooooo...I own four rods & each serves it's own purpose very well. My all-around favorite, though, is a TFO 10'-7 wt that I use for steelies, pike, pickerel & bass. It has a fighting butt, but, from what I've been reading in here & other articles about speys, switches, & two-handers in general, I was wondering if it could be converted to a switch by simply adding an extra long handle? I've used the 10 ft-7 to cast 6, 7, & 8 wt all very well, so, say, converting it to an 11'-6 wt shouldn't be a prob. I've got a good friend who's been building his own fly rods for many, many years using quality, name-brand blanks (Loomis, Sage, Fenwick, etc.) & he might be able to take off the old & put on the new. If this wouldn't work, is it because the blank wouldn't go thru the butt handle? Nick..if I had it converted, could you fix me up with the lines & rigging? What would you need to know before giving advice on the lines, tips, etc? I'm just doing my homework now with the research, before I try modifying my favorite. thanks guys..jj

i know it can be done because Charlie made a 10' 7 wt into a switch. we found a good line match for it too. i don't build rods so i don't really know what was involved.
