Well i dont know what to call it, i was going with the flow. It looks like a winters hope with a tail... Its my first spey, well more towards traditionals. The only other one ive tied is nicks bunny spey. Its not the fancy-ist but hopefully i catch a fish.

not bad Mikey. i would call it a feather wing steelhead fly. speys by definition have a palmered, long hackle over at least part of the body and a wing. overall it is a great start, the head looks good too which always seems to give beginners trouble.

The best advice i can give you to learn the spey style is to pick a true spey pattern. It's tough to give constructive criticism (if any) if there isn't a pattern/recipe to follow. Going with the flow is fine, but if you really want to learn, here are a few patterns to get you started.
