We're always looking for ways to improve the services and products we bring to the fishing population of WNY.
For example, in our new location we intend to develop an interactive fly tyers bench and a couple of other free, interactive areas to help educate novice, intermediate and experienced fly fishers.
What other types of things should we be doing? )Kudos to Nick Pionessa for creating this micro site dedicated to education!!)
What products should we have in the shop that aren't currently carried?
We welcome all of your suggestions! Thanks for your ongoing support of the shop so we can continue to educate, distribute top quality products, and support ongoing conservation efforts.

She'll be there on Mondays! Her name is Maggie, and will be a great addition for one day at least!

I think that offering basic educational activities and services is key. Education in the form of problem solving and getting us headed in the right direction, but not necessarily providing the complete answer. What I mean is that streamside learning is the best and is invaluable for each to learn that way – trial and error. A shop can provide the best education, materials, equipment, support and advice and we do with it what we will.
Shop is also a place to hide relax a little and BS with staff and others.
You have experienced people in your shop who relate their experiences and educate. Also have good materials and equipment. Keep it going and focus on the services that differentiate the OOFS from the other.
Dogs are good too. Did anyone mention beer?

How about more modestly-priced rods and reels in the lineup? I know that's a category one can find in lots of places, but I don't want to shop in "lots of places." There are reasons most of us come to OOFS, so for those of us on more limited budgets (sorry, guys, I don't have a job all summer; I'm forced to fish.) we could spend more of our time and dinero there.
Last time I drove past, that front porch looked lonely for a couple of rockin' chairs, too. ok cc
