This is a simple and affective dry fly invented by father Elmer Smith. It is considered to be one of the best dry flies ever devised for Atlantic salmon. There are many color variations for this fly. The one pictured is one of the more popular versions. Hook: Salmon dry Tail: Calf tail hair or stiff deer hair. Wing: Calf tail hair or stiff deer hair. Body: Spun deer hair trimmed to a cigar shape.
