If we get there at 6:30 we should be able to take care of the swap before game time. Dave did say he wanted to head over to the bar after so this should work great for the game. sir, i like the way you think

Gents...Checked with Nick & it's OK, I'm bringing a 12 pack (or 2) of Saranac's "What Ales You" sampler pack & a six pack each of Coke & 7-Up (for minors & non-drinkers) if you: 1. want to get warmed up before going to a bar or game 2. won't be going to the bar but want to have a drink with the tiers anyway (that's me). 3. want to lift a toast to dave (for organizing), nick (for the store) & everyone who tied for participating 4. didn't participate, (like your collar bone's broken or something) but will be ready for the next time.
Looking forward to seeing everyone..jj

I always park on the side street just west of the shop, on the other side of the dry cleaner.

the dry cleaners next door (west) is closed at 6 pm or either of the adjacent side streets or across the street at the HS.

Yea .... i was thinking the bar would be perfect timing for game 3 ..... we can sort everything out at the store and head over and watch .... or at least catch a period or 2
Pat, im soure your flies are fine. Anyways, this is kind of a learning experience. Ive done swaps online before, and you mail them out and dont get to talk to anyone about their patterns. By us all being there, you have a chance to ask questions, as well as add a few patterns to your box. From what i have seen thru pics on here and flies that have been mailed to me, everyone should be looking to tie up a bunch of the flies that have been submitted
See you guys tomorrow!

pat-g...you might be mildly surprised at how much your flies are very much like what the majority of people tie (including me). Dave is right on about the mail-ins. This is my first fly swap & if we were mailing them in, we would get what we get & give what we give & that would be the end of it. We're fortunate to have several excellent tiers who are willing to share their flies, advice, & knowledge. It certainly raises the bar for me. It's like playing sports. If you're always playing so-so opponents, the team never gets better. If the team is exposed to other teams at a different level, their bar is raised & in the end, they get better. Same thing happened when I was a kid playing chess. I could beat anyone in the neighborhood, but it was all neighborhood kids. They even admitted that I was a real good chess player. Then I started playing this older guy & he could checkmate me in fewer than 10 moves, everytime. I didn't start getting better until I was exposed to what he did. Looking forward to meeting you & chatting with everyone else! see ya'..jj
