well i'm not even going to try to tie patterns for the most of these critters. i will get up some of the more obvious ones as i can but the big hairy spider with the huge egg ball is going to be up to you. all of these photos were taken in the WNY area or maybe as far south as central PA. all of these photos were taken with my feet in the stream. in other words they were all where they could have easily ended up in the water one way or another. i'm sure i will be adding to this regularly since i'm always amazed (or freaked out) at what i see crawling around the streams.
First things first, the ants

this thing had a leg span of 3"+. i knocked it off the rock and it ran across the stream to the far bank.
