Do you not have an account? And I usually use 50 lb test for panfish, bass, and trout. 80+ for salmon and steelhead.
However, If I fish that dam on that one Ontario Trib I use parachute cord and a hook from a meat factory with a 1/2 cinder block for weight at the bottom of my rig.
Register, Then tell me what your fishing for and ill give you a legit setup.

i usually run 4x tippet and a indicator... with some shot if needed.. and intomybacking... when you use parachute cord, do you have trouble tying the fishermans knot? that part always gets me.

I tie the knot and to make sure its secure I used an 8 inch C clamp to hold it down. It helps adding extra weight because a whole cinder block is too much weight and a 1/2 isnt quite enough. Because down at that trib you gotta wait for the salmon to bite that bare hook and you drive it home.. Its just weird how they eat those hooks with their anus and eye's.. I mean they gotta be, Because thats where you usually hook em..

I dont know dude. Ive seen people use hunks of cheese, can tabs, fist size egg sacs.. I think they bite anything infront of them. Thanks for the tip on the C clamp. That should help.

Oh shit, This is a fly fishing forum.. In that case.. Your gonna need a clouser tied on a 5x long 5/0+ treble hook.. With 62 wraps of lead. In fact, Just use lead. No need for thread. Then double haul it to the foot of the dam and every 3 seconds rip it through the water.. They will eat that with there anus I bet..
