The Cummings is another old standard for steelhead fishing on the west coast. It was originally invented the 1930’s by Ward Cummings and Clarence Gordon in Oregon. This is my version of the fly adapted to a tube. Tube: Brass, Copper or Aluminum Tag: oval silver tinsel. Butt: Yellow hackle Rib: Claret floss with oval silver tinsel on either side of it over rear half of body, large oval silver over the front part of body. Body: Rear half yellow floss, front half Claret dubbing. Body Hackle: Yellow hackle palmerd over front of body. Collar: Claret hackle. Wing: Brown rabbit strip over rear half, brown rabbit strip over front. Head: Silver cone.
