Hello everyone,
My name is Alex, and I am relatively new to two handed fly fishing. However, I am learning very quickly. I was directed to this forum from the Trout Legend forum. I am currently fishing around in WNY for trout and anything else I can find with my Echo 4wt switch rod. I love it. Anyways, I am looking for like minded folk who are interested in two handed fly fishing for trout and later for steelhead. I'm interested in sharing info, tips, photos, reviews and possibly find some people to go hit the rivers with. I live in Hornell right now, but I am from East Aurora and Buffalo. I mostly fish the Genesee river... just what I am familiar with.
Oh I am also interested in single hand fly fishing still. It is of course the bread and butter of trout fishing. I'm just infatuated with spey casting and two handed fly fishing.

Try to get up to the Salmon river Speyclave this saturday. I've been meaning to go for the last two years but had conflicts. This year my wife and I are definitely going--even if I have to bribe her with going out to dinner after

Welcome to the site. there are a few dh trout guys on here but so far it's a fairly limited group. it's nice to hear it's gaining more followers. most of my dh work is in the migratory fish realm so i would be less helpful on the trout tactics but if i can help with casting technique i would be happy to. there are some good pieces on techniques for migratory fish in the techniques section too for the upcoming season. oh and what dobs said try to make it to the clave if possible, it is a great event. www.speynation.com

I am aware of the Spey Clave. I wish I could go. Unfortunately, I have other plans. Thanks for the heads up though. I am very interested in fishing for migratory fish with two handed rod. I did a bit of swinging flies for steelhead in Hood River, OR. Thats where I got into it. I am going to try to get out as many days as I can for steelhead this year in WNY. I am also going to purchase a full size spey rod for that ordeal.
