Hi All, I am taking a 22 day road trip around the country begining August 1st. I am fishing all types of water all types of trout from Yellowstone to Deschutes, Rogue, N. Umpqua, Klamath, and hopefully more. For the Oregon portion of the trip I have been tying actively keeping it simple with 5-6 patterns of wets and some dries. For wets I am going with green butts, spawning purple, purple peril, brad's brat, etc. I have so far been tying these things on big old 4/0 spey hooks with shafts about 3" (older partridges I use). I have been trying these smaller and low water style just on the big hook. I am concerned I need to tone it down to a small but strong wet hook. What concerns should I have as far as hook size for these wetfly summer steel patterns out west? any?
Thanks!
