Nice job Vern-o!! Great job on the setting the wings.
As far as the wings curving up, that's nothing you did wrong on your end. Some Turkey tails have that curvature which makes it impossible to get the wings to lay flat. If you have other turkey tails, find one that is fairly flat or the good side curving slightly down.

Sweet Fly Vern. green butt Dee, I went to highschool with her ;D You sure it's not the fuzz on the rear half of the body that is forcing the wing up? It kinda looks like it starts right at the back half. You could give it a trim, just a little off the top, and see how they sit. OR once you fish it (or just wet it down) they may lay flat-er. Either way, I'd fish it! or more likely I'd double spey it right into the logjam on the far bank...

Nice job Vern! And I think I agree with Frank about the turkey feather. As for the rest of the fly, very nice! Tie a few more for practice and Steve and I will test them for you.

Agreed<--- good job, finding good, flat turkey is tuff, don't worry about curve, I just flip em' upside down, if it's a fishing fly it won't matter, one shines and one is dull, fish don't care and if it's a wall hanger, well that's why those are "rare". Great job on setting the wings next to each other with no over lap and keeping the head small, that's what sets good Dee Flies apart from the rest, from there back is easy, just keep em' slim
