Ran across a guy late summer on an inland stream. Told me his fav fly for browns and steel is called a mr rubber legs. I forgot what the hell it looked like. maybe a brown/crystal bugger with s ton of legs?
Any thoughts?

my guess is he's talking about these guys. plenty of color options since it's just chenille and rubber. i have seen some cool variegated chenille versions too. this version came from Blue Ribbon Flies.

That's a great fly for autumn inland fishing. I like to tie them with verigated chenille and barred rubber legs. Put a layer of lead wire under the chenille to help it get down. Now that I think about it, I caught my 1st steelhead on one of those too.

I tie a version of the fly Nick posted that I call the big turd. It has a bead and a hot spot just before the bead that is usually orange. It's a great inland trout fly especially in the winter, I would imagine its effective anywhere that three are fish and big stoneflies.
