My question is regarding the smell resulting from burning feathers with bleach. I burned a few schlappen & webby saddle feathers today, I immediately rinsed them with fresh water, still a heavy clorox smell, washed them Palmolive rinsed them a couple more time and they still smell of bleach. Will the smell dissipate as they dry or have I done something wrong?

if you let them air dry the smell will dissipate after a few hours and after that there seems to be no smell. i have a ziploc full of burned feathers and even when you first open the bag they don't smell.
