mikey,
You would have to have the 90 degree jig eye / hook design for floating under a thing um a bobber. A Clouser, bead head bugger would hang vertical rather than horizontal. There are some "jig" fly hooks too. It would also have to be very light weight ounces wise. The floats those guys use support a lot more weight than you can with one of those.
mikey, as this got a bit off subject anyways here is .2 cents worth of thought. If you want to fish jigs, why not just tie em up or use plastic's, spin rod, cast and retrieve while jigging? Why use a float/bobber? Sporting in that the fish have to move to "take" the jig. You may enjoy it but, no it won't be as effective as float fishing / bobber fly fishing on some days my freind and as a whole in general.
A good freind of mine down here, a full time custom rod builder noted for custom wood handles is an exceptional jig fisherman (rivers & lakes) whom I have fished with several times, using my fly rod. I seriously doubt he has used a bobber/float or for that matter bait of any kind sense he was a kid and he is at least 65 + now.
Another guy I fish river smallies with down here uses spin rod and jigs or rapala's / plugs always casting and retrieving covering the water.
If you do such with jigs in rivers and creeks you will need MUCH less weight than you think and/or compared to lake jigging. A 1/20 oz jig (large closer eye's size) on straight 8-10 # tests mono will be more than enough except maybe for the big river. Tying jigs of buck tail, bunny, fox etc. is also a fun hobby with the reward of catching your fish on what you made/tied. I tied jigs, melted lead and made jigs, as a teenager down here for local tackle shops along the lake to earn some $$$. If not into tying the modern plastics like the shad's etc. are incredible.
I have a lot of respect for jig fisherman. Try it with out a bobber first Or under your thing a boooooober, something light like a mini foo jig may work for a Echo switch / pin set up.
Take care
