hey brookies...thanks for the offer of giving up the Warmwater Whammy, but you called it first so I found the Banger popper in a Fly Tyer mag instead. I wasn't really set on the whammy (it's not like I gotta do it) but as I was surfing around for a bass fly, it was the first one to catch my eye. It really is a nice looking fly, not real difficult to tie, & looks like a bass killer. The prob I was having was finding some braided (not twisted) poly macrame rope in yellow or green. Couldn't find any in less than a 50' roll, but my wife had some blue braid stashed in the closet. Now that would make a nice colorful fly. If you need any blue poly braid, I'd be glad to get you about 5 or 6 ft. of it for the tail. Right now, I'm looking for some chrome prismatic mylar tape for the popper. Thanks again for offering to give it up. If you really found something else you'd rather tie, then I'll do the Whammy. (How's that for bouncing this thing back & forth?) Ha!..jj

Count me in please. This will be a great way for me to start a bass fly box.
I will tie The Sick Puppy Streamer.

First attempt at the Eric Price's Warmwater Whammey. I think I'll shorten the tail a bit and make the lip a bit taller/longer. 12 more to go. Uploaded with ImageShack.usUploaded with ImageShack.usUploaded with ImageShack.us

jeez, brookies. what a nice looking fly. No need to skimp on the tail though. You've got plenty of Bonnie Braid (ha!) It's a little hard to tell from the pic, but is that a single or double weed guard & what test are you using for that? How about hook size? What size is it tied on? The hook & fly size look just about right for around here.
Thanks for the pics. Lookin' forward to getting one of them at the swap as well as the others. I've got just the spot to use that baby. and I think all the bass flies are going to be looking good....jj

Thanks guys.
JJ,
It's a 1/0 Daichii Stinger Hook with a 60 lbs mono double weed guard. It should work in the pads really well.
