So, after watching Ray's demo, I decided that I wanted to make myself a dubbing machine. I looked around the web for inspiration and to see what others had done... I wasn't sure what I'd end up with, but loaded with a bunch of ideas, I headed off to the thrift store to see if they had an old pair of rollerblades, since the only bearings I could find in my shop were a 3/4" set from the jackshaft of a minibike I made for my daughter years ago. No luck on the rollerblades, but I did spot an old erector set knockoff ("steel-tek"). It would have originally made a dragster, but three tires were missing, and it looks like a dog chewed on some of the pieces... but it had everything I needed. The end result: The table folds down... The one wheel that came with the set: (the cup hook is the only thing that came from outside) I'm sure it will need more modifications as I use it more; I've made one already: the hook on the non-rotating side (shown in the first photo) wouldn't hold the wire initially, so I got rid of it and build a different wirecatcher. All for the grand sum of three bucks -- and there are plenty of pieces left! (sorry for the crummy photography and cluttered desk!) Cassady

AWESOME!!..if you unfold it, does it turn into a helicopter? I've still got my old Erector Set motor (the light blue one). I wonder if it could be used for a motorized dubbing twister? Great idea, you got there though, cassady

That's AWESOME!!! That looks like it would be as fun to use as it was to make. Glad you liked my demo.

Thanks, guys. It works great.
And NSN, just you wait until the great bobbin shortage comes. Then we'll see who's laughing.

pg: I could certainly try -- it may take a day or two, though.
