here is a little frog popper i have had good success with for a couple of years now. pretty easy to tie and fairly durable. it rides well in the water and pops well enough though not as good as a cupped face type. all in all it's a great little bug since it's easy and cheap to tie. colors are endless with white foam and makers of doing two ore more colors stacked and glued. you want 6mm foam for the solid ones or a total of 6mm for the two or three toned versions. i.e. two pieces of 3mm foam or three pieces of 2mm. you can also do longer, more pencil popper types with this method just determine the hook length and cut the foam accordingly. you may also add glue on eyes for more realism. they are also very easy to cast even on 3 or 4wt rods to make the 'gills and small bass show off better.
