a time or two highly recommended for regular mono leaders on up to 10' poly's on switch rods. heavier tips or real bulky flies are it's limits. if you stick to that it's one of the best casting heads out there. a great compliment if you already have a skagit head for heavier tips. 11' 6wt's are typically 330-390. not sure if you're in the shop's area but we have demo heads if you want to take one for a spin.

You should check out the Airflo Rage Compact. That line is a killer. It's kind of cross between a Scandi and a Skagit. Its an absolute pleasure to cast. It can throw some heavy tips. But it also excels at casting the lighter tips through the wind. If I had to pick one line... that one might be it. I fished it on a 12' 6" 6wt spey... but I would imagine it would still be a great line on a switch rod.
Any one of the three lines would be awesome. They just do different things.

Another very good one is the Rio Scandi Short Versi Tip.
It is a true multi sink tip head which can be used with Rio 10' density compensated sink tips or 15' DC sink tips of similar grains.
In lighter sink tip grain weights. The biggest differance fishing DC sink tips versus poly leaders is the density compensation of a sink tip versus the heavy taper - sinks faster at the butt than the tip of a poly leader. With un-weighted flies the DC sink tips are preferred.
It only comes as a multi sink tip kit - head plus four 10' DC tips 1)floating 2)clear intermediate 3)Type3 4)type6 , plus a wallet for tip currently. The costs is very similar to purchasing a scandi head and four 10' poly leaders however. Will be offered in head only format fall 2012 if you already have 15' sink tips, etc. It also handles 8'-12' of various T tip material.
The number 6 would be the first choice on your 6wt switch.
It finishes 33' with 10' sink tips to 38' with 15'. One could run a poly leader off the floater if wanted but why? I just run mono leader to dry fly, waker, weighted fly, etc. and loop on a sink tip for depth.
Made in the U.S.A. it is similar, to Guideline DDC ready to go and Loops.
Look for a s1/hover head in future / 2013.............sweet
