just to play devil's advocate, i would not have posted this vid as a promotion for great casting. the 180º degree principal was apparently never explained to this guy. his anchor is sometime 90º to his target and barely avoids collision loops on most casts. his forward stroke is not straight in the least with a large left hook and on the single spey doesn't have enough energy to straighten the line out. big arc to the tip travel as well. seriously i have seen better casting by many non famous people. the helicopter spey fails too or they would not have cut it off at the end, you can see the anchor is once again coming down 90º to the target. mediocre at best. well filmed and the orange line is cool but the mechanics of these casts leave a lot to be desired. don't be fooled by smoke and mirrors folks.

"I think you need the fancy RED line to cast like that" Cuz, yes, I was thinking as I watched it: wow my fly would have crashed into the loop on that one, and that one, etc. Arial double was pretty cool though - never seen that one before... And Nick you passed the test - I was wondering who would catch the cut of the helicopter segment. Sorry, dude, not meant to promote as great casting, We need a sarcasm code or something. (make you a better caster -HA HA) But come on, FLO-red line, CREED and shit, It was dramatic as F*** ! right? Steve, blowin' smoke up your butt from the middle of the Niagara ;D

"barely avoids collision loops on most casts" That shows you how GOOD he is! - Taking blown cast set ups and making "lemonade" I wonder how much actual footage they shot to get those casts "enjoyable vid to watch but" Creed sucks by the way, much like nickleback (sorry Sagebrush, eh)

Appears he is using a fairly long belly/line ratio also. One thing that lacks, needed for fishing yet, minimal on clip plus easier - he has minimal change of direction . always easier to say than actually do though....... personally, i get tired of these "casting vids" theyare of no use to 'fisherman which I am. they don't use sink tips, real flies etc. while doing, which changes everything, they pick ideal days, stand much shallower in the water than fisherman , in ideal flow -------- the whole thing is BS -------and what good is casting long belly's / other if you don't actually EVER use it fishing = ZERO unless entering a casting comp. or something. i give the skagit guys, sgagit masters, etc. credit for one thing. at least when they do dvd's it's REAL fishing situation's. there casting instruct is with REAL sized flies used on and REAL sink tips arse deep rather than shin deep in the current, with REAL weather conditions, wind,etc..............these "spey casting dvd's" are something...........
