Spock's Brain Series Hook: Daiichi #3 Alec Jackson Spey Fly Shook Body: Body Worxs & Crystal Flash Dubbing Collar: 5-7" Schlappen & Guinea Wing: Lady Amherst I had consistent success on a slight variant last year, so I am trying to turn it into a standard. Adapted from the BS Spey. The go to was the black and silver. Someone let me know if the Spock's Brain name is taken, I feel like I may have stolen it through my subconscious. Improvements?

those look good. I would definitely tie one on as they look really fishy.
Improvements??? tie them on a tube and add another front section to the back???

they look great as a pattern Stumpy. the front bulk surrounded by longer sparse stuff (in this case the Am pheas) is a proven style. i like the flashy rear section which will get enveloped by the longer materials when it swims. if you added a rear section as Brent suggests it would be similar to an intruder pattern but i like this smaller version better especially in the clear water you frequent.
if i could critique anything it would be the heads. moving them back a bit and working on making them smaller. it looks like you may be wrapping thread back over the collar hackle too. that may add some durability but it also causes the collar fibers to twist away from the fly. probably not a big deal once you fish them but not quite as pretty in hand. properly the hackle should be tied off and then the head thread stays in front of the last collar wraps stem. if you go over that stem (rearward) the thread tightening will twist each fiber backward and out away from the fly. try it once and you will se what i mean.
cool pattern and name. a search for the name only brought me back here so i think it's pretty original.

I like this, I'll have to twist up some and swing 'em. Great job. Smaller head like Nick said is all I can see for improvement.
