You guys can thank Aaron Ostoj for the name of this tube fly. It cracked me up as soon as he posted his comment in a reply on Facebook. He thought it would look good for a sculpin species that he and his friends affectionally call "Turd Wranglers."
My thought process behind this fly was to tie something that has a good amount of movement, is not too big and not too small, and could possibly look like a scuplin or maybe even a crayfish. I also wanted to have a nice balance of natural materials and synthetic materials that would complement each other and work together well.

Thanks Vern for the heads up Vern-o I will do that!!
Steve - I was using an echo dec hogan 13'-3" 8wt with the airflo delta spey line and a polyleader. I did not cut any of the tip off the delta spey.

cool, nice loops.
I have the delta, a skagit, AND a skandi short.
This fall I have gone back to only the Delta and once I remembered how slow you have to go, it's been a ton of fun to cast AND you can actually mend, unlike the heads and running line.

hey Frank i fixed the imbed on the vid. if you take a you tube url and at the end will be an "=" and if you take the gibberish that is to the right of the equal sign and place it between the you tube brackets it will imbed. i.e. remove the space before the last you tube bracket and it will then imbed the vid. in the post that said, damn nice job on the vid. nice and clear and shows the techniques well.

I really like your bottom dweller style btw Frank. I seen it in your crayfish spey prior with hen pheasant etc. and see it again here on this one. Adding the rear collar with the fox tail as example on this one. You do a good job of hitting that could be a crustacean , could be a darter, could be a sculpin blend that ultimately equals a fishy and consistent pattern in my book.. Universal , I could easily swing that for any Lake Run, inland Trout and river smallies. Nice job and catchy name too. Funny how that works (name of fly's). You could name it something classy and yet "Turd Wrangler" is hard to forget

Really liking the combination of materials that create the head. The dubbing is the perfect finish.
