King of the buggers Kowalski comes through with another hit! I like it especially with the darker wing.

Sounds like a good color combo, Frank The collar is "spey" hackle in fake heron gray The wing on this one is a clump of 3" long purple Shlappen fibers. I have a couple feathers with like an 1/8 thick stem, no way to wrap it - but the fibers are awesome for cutting off for wings or spinning hackle. I use Hackle tip wings on these as well - I put this one up awhile ago

great ties man, I often start out with the intentions of tying some sort of new creation Spey type fly and they end up more bugger than spey and these are right up my ally.... I can see these working larger for bass and smaller for inland streamers.
One thing sorta totally unrelated but that I have been meaning to ask and everytime I go to the shop I either forget or overlook them.... The Junglecock you guys use as eys/gill cover representations; where can I find a decent cape(?), locally or are they an online only thing and what would I be looking at spending ballaprk? Thanks......
Keep up the good work!

Nick, I'm pretty sure the shop doesn't carry them. I bought mine from Castle Arms / Fishermen's Furs & Feathers I forgot the old guys name, but he was at the Spey Nation with a little table set up.
Price range for a cape says $60 for grade C to $175 for super grade A I paid $75 and mine was (I think) a B it has a lot of good (not split) nails.
At the rate I tie the cape will last me for 10 years I split a cape with Timmy and it lasted 7 years (but I wasn't using as much ) - there's in the range of 300 to 400+ feathers on each
